What is Foot Pain?

Foot pain can be the result of chronic overuse leading to muscle imbalances, stress fractures, tendon or fat pad inflammation or bursitis. It can also be due to more violent acute joint sprains that tear ligaments or cause displaced fractures. The most common cause of foot pain in the sole is plantar fasciitis.

Other Symptoms Include:
  • Tendency to avoiding pressure through the area
  • Significant swelling at the sprained joint or ligaments
  • Tightness in the calf
  • Swelling and pain along the line of tendons e.g. Achilles or top of foot
  • Limited movement or stiffness at the toe joints.
